WORKSHOPS
February 12th is your chance to learn the Big Apple!  The Lindy Bombers have performed it for you (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orMylVNOOgs) and now they want you to join in!  This is a fun routine and great for your dancing.  Class will go from 1 PM - 4 PM at Harry's and cost $15.  All levels welcome!

 

SUNDAY CLASSES
Remember this week the membership meeting is occuring at 7 PM and there will be no taster class.

Monday nights - Lindy Bombers classes run every week at Morningstar Community Church!  Dedicated to improving your Lindy Hop, we have beginner and intermediate classes at 7:30 PM, and a rotating taster class at 8:30 PM.  This month is Elaine's Contraption!  Cost is $5 per night or $10 per month.  Check out www.lindybombers.com for more details!

Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers!  It's a special message Monday because I have a favor to ask you.

 

I mentioned last night that the Lindy Bombers are competing in March at the Heartland Swing Festival.  We'll compete as a team and as individuals and couples in multiple contests while we are there.  In addtion to that though, a few of the team members are competing for the chance to be Miss Heartland.  It's a pin-up contest they're hosting, and they do online voting.

 

What do we need from you?  Vote for our representatives!  Ellen Borst, Chelsea Rothschild, and Corina Tillman would all love your vote.  Follow the link below, you can vote for 6 to 12 people, so have some fun while you help support our local dancers!

Hello dancers!  Thanks to everyone who braved the weather last week and came out to dance.  If you aren't certain if we're having a swingin' sunday or not, go to the blog on our website here:  http://www.wichitaswingdance.com/weekly.html

 

We'll be sure to put up a cancellation notice there if it should happen.  I must warn you though, we have a rivalry with the postal service over who takes more days off, and it's neck and neck.....

 

I'll take a quick second to point out to you that the Lindy Bomber's dance team is holding open tryouts on March 7th.  We perform, teach, and compete, and we're looking for you!  Tryouts will be held after the weekly Lindy Bomber's classes at 8:30, check out www.lindybombers.com for details.

 

THIS WEEK

Swingin' Sunday will feature another great night of Partner Charleston and East Coast Swing lessons, so show up early and add a little bit to your dancing.  I promise something new and exciting for the advanced east coast class....
