That's right, from 6-9 PM there will be FREE DJ'd Swing music for your dancing enjoyment, and all ages are welcome. Did I mention the full service bar and full food menu? So come on out, dance off a few calories, have a meal, see some friends, and enjoy some pre-holiday fun!

December 31st - It's our NYE party! Come help us swing in 2010 from 9 PM to 1 AM. We'll have a new year's breakfast, and dancing hosted by our DJ, the Dance Man Ronnie Choy! It only costs you $10 in advance, $15 at the door. I challenge you to find a better NYE party for that cost!

January 30th - The Lindy Bombers are back with more dance goodness for your appetite. This time we'll be branching out with classes focusing on Balboa and Collegiate Shag! Workshop will run from 10 AM to 1 PM, and pricing will be $7 per class, $15 for all three. More details coming soon!

Weekly Update 11/19
Hello dancers! You are on a roll lately! Thanks to all of you who came out to make the Sock Hop a great time. Before we get into the nuts and bolts today, a little bit of housekeeping:
1) If you are the people in the attached picture, or know who they are, please contact me immediately.
2) Are you a WSDS member? If not, please take a second to read the following: A membership costs you $25 a year or $15 a year if you are a student, in the military, or at least 55 years old.
Now is a great time to become a member, and here's why:
You don't pay to get in the door the night you join = you save $5
You don't pay to get into the WSDS Christmas Party = you save $10
You get in cheaper every week = you save $2/week
So, if you qualify for the discounted membership it will pay for itself in just two nights. If you do not, your membership will almost pay for itself entirely before it is even 2010! The year membership starts the night you join, so it behooves you to start saving yourself money participating in your favorite hobby. Just something to think about......
3) The next membership meeting will be Sunday, January 3rd. It'll run in the studio basement from 6:30 - 7:15 PM. A chance to hear what we've been up to since the elections, and a chance to talk with your board directly. Hope to see you there.

Weekly Update

You guys are the best. Simply the best.
If you weren't at the Shadow this past Tuesday then you missed out, plain and simple. Give the Shadow your thanks (and your patronage) for hosting us once again. Give your thanks and your applause to Cool Blue for putting on an awesome performance. (They are available for all your musical needs, contact Steve at 213-7808 for booking.)
Without great partners like these we couldn't bring you events like last Tuesday.

THIS WEEK
Two big events to keep you dancing!
Saturday - Lindy Hop Workshop! A fundraiser for the Lindy Bomber's, this is your chance to add to your dancing for cheap. Located at the studio, here's the schedule:
10 AM - Challenging Charleston - Some new and exciting patterns to add to your partner charleston!
11 AM - Mind Blowing Moves - We'll take some old favorites and turn them on their ear, plus a few choice new ones for you!
Noon - Hustle and Flow - It's time to use momentum to smoothly and stylishly connect the elements of your dancing
Classes are $7 each or all three for just $15, don't miss out!
Sunday - It's time to break out the poodle skirts and the hair grease. Ronnie Choy is your host for the annual Sock Hop! A magical evening of hearkening back to the Malt Shop with our favorite DJ is sure to lift your spirits and move your feet. Don't miss out.....

Free Live Band Tonight
Hello dancers! It's a big, Big, BIG day today!
The weather outside looks a little bleak, but nothing cheers me up like dancing to a live band for free!!!!!!!! If that sounds good to you too, come on out to the Shadow tonight. DJ'd music will start at 6, band will start at 7 and play until 9. It is absolutely free. It is absolutely open to all ages. It is absolutely guaranteed to make your Tuesday.
