Weekly Update 11-24

Hello dancers, thanks to everyone who came to preemptively dance off some turkey last Sunday!  If you missed that chance, you have a reprieve tonight, because.....
 
It's Swing Night at the Shadow TONIGHT!!!!!
 
That's right, from 6-9 PM there will be FREE DJ'd Swing music for your dancing enjoyment, and all ages are welcome.  Did I mention the full service bar and full food menu?  So come on out, dance off a few calories, have a meal, see some friends, and enjoy some pre-holiday fun!

CLASSES
This month we're having Janet expand your east coast vocabulary.  We'll be featuring Advanced East Coast Swing all month!  It'll all look like this:
Upstairs:
6:30 - Beginner Swing I
7:15 - Beginner Swing II
Downstairs:
6:30 - Intermediate Lindy Hop
7:15 - Advanced East Coast Swing
 
December we have a holiday treat for you:  West Coast lessons with Swing Dance Hall of Fame member Harry Reese!  This is a versatile and fun dance you don't want to miss out on...
Upstairs:

January we're hitting you up with another great swing dance to add to your repetoire:  Balboa!  This fast and flashy dance from the west coast has swept the nation.  Don't miss out on this great dance!

BIG EVENTS
We have two doozies left in 2009, pay close attention...
 
December 13th - It's the WSDS Christmas Party!  What that means to you:
1) Three hours of the Dave Stephens Band, the single best band you'll hear in the studio all year long.
2) It's FREE for WSDS Members!  Our Christmas present to all of you
3) There will be a free dance contest to award a pair of WSDS NYE Party tickets.  Speaking of which....
 
December 31st - It's our NYE party!  Come help us swing in 2010 from 9 PM to 1 AM.  We'll have a new year's breakfast, and dancing hosted by our DJ, the Dance Man Ronnie Choy!  It only costs you $10 in advance, $15 at the door.  I challenge you to find a better NYE party for that cost!

July 16-18th - It's the WSDS 10th Anniversary!  Mark your calendars now!
 
WORKSHOPS
You attended the last couple so well we couldn't help but bring you more!
 
January 30th - The Lindy Bombers are back with more dance goodness for your appetite.  This time we'll be branching out with classes focusing on Balboa and Collegiate Shag!  Workshop will run from 10 AM to 1 PM, and pricing will be $7 per class, $15 for all three.  More details coming soon!
 
LIVE BANDS
December 13th - Dave Stephens Band, all the way from California will play from 7 - 10 PM, don't miss out!
 
January 24th - The Benders!  If you've heard them that's all you need to know, if you haven't come out and see what you've been missing.
