Hello dancers! 

 

Happy Easter!  Join us at the Care to Dance studio for some Lindy 'Hop' and 'East'er Coast Swing dancing.  It will be a most eggcellent time with the beginning ECS lesson at 7:30-8:00 PM and open dancing from 8-10 PM.  We will celebrate our March babies with the birthday jam.

 

April is teeming with exciting opportunities to dance.  We have our series classes of Beginning Lindy Hop and Partner Charleston.  We have a one-week intensive Boot Camp of Intermediate East Coast Swing lesson on April 7^th. Swing Session II with WSU Jazz Arts on April 10^th located at WSU Duerksen Fine Arts Center in room C107. The event goes from 7:30-9:00 PM. We are announcing another silly dance contest on April 14^th that has to do with Taxes.  Join us for our first R&B theme night on April 21^st.  No month would be complete without our traditional birthday jam on April 28^th.

WSDS Weekly 3/21/13

Hello dancers! 

 

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Lindy Leprechaun contest.  Watch the video on our WSDS Facebook page. 

 

Saturday evening Care to Dance Studio has invited us to join their monthly studio party from 7-10 PM.  The cost is $10 and this month's theme is Thrift Store.  It is a great opportunity to connect with other dancers in the studio and community.

 

This Sunday is Soul Night! Come join us for the long awaited evening!  Drop in beginning East Coast Swing lesson starts at 7:30-8:00 PM and let your soul glow while dancing from 8-10 PM.

 

Mark your calendar for Boot Camp on April 7^th at 6:30 PM.  Join us for the one-week intensive Intermediate East Coast Swing lesson on the dance floor upstairs.  The cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members, which includes the drop in class and dance for the evening.

 

WSDS is proud to partner with WSU Jazz Arts for Swing Session II on April 10^th. It is from 7:30-9:00 PM in Duerksen Fine Arts Center room C107.  Come listen to WSU Jazz Arts play live as we represent WSDS.

WSDS Weekly 3/14/13

Hello dancers! 

 

Thank you to all in attendance at Swing Session I. Dancing to live music is invigorating.  Join us for Swing Session II on April 10, 2013 at 7:30 PM.  See pictures from last night's event on the Wichita Swing Dance Society page on Facebook.

 

This Sunday celebrate St. Patrick's Day with swing dancing!  Spot the Lindy Leprechaun contest under the rainbow for the pot of gold.  We hope you join in the fun!  Drop in class starts at 7:30-8:00 PM and open dancing from 8-10 PM.

Don't forget that this Sunday is Daylight Savings and we Spring forward an hour.  Join us for the drop in class that starts at 7:30-8:00 PM and open dancing from 8-10 PM.

 

Swinging Sessions I with WSDS and WSU Jazz Arts ensemble is next Wednesday, March 13, 2013.  There is a lesson from 7:30 to 8 PM and free live music to swing to from 8-9 PM.
