April 10 is SOUL NIGHT!  We'll be getting down all night with our friends from STAX and Motown, come join the fun!

The Grand Marquis, Pivot Point, and regional DJ's will keep you dancing for 3 nights while our instructors from Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago will make your feet move during 2 days of workshops.  We're inviting all our friends from out of town so come out and show them how we do things in the ICT!

OTHER DANCES

March 31st is our Dollar Dance!  We'll be in the studio basement DJing swing music from 7-9 PM and all it costs you is $1!  So come get some midweek dancing in with us!

 

April 17th is a big Swingin' Sunday!  We're having our quarterly membership meeting, and we're having a dance contest!  Prizes will be awarded and it will be free to enter.  Mark it on your calendar, we'd love to see all of you there!

Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers!  It's a big week with a few new announcements for you:

 

We're adding another chance for you to dance!  Thursday, March 31st we're having a Dollar Dance in the basement of the studio from 7-9 PM.  That's right, come get your dancing on in the middle of the week for just a buck!

 

The Lindy Bombers have returned from the Heartland Swing Festival, and we represented you well!  Congratulations to Jeremiah Slattery and Corina Tillman for making the finals of the slow swing contest!

 

This weekend several dancers are making the pilgrimage to Lindyfest in Houston, TX.  It's a weekend full of dancing and learning, and them spreading the word about Sunflower Swing!

Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers!  A bit of an abbreviated email this week, but still with plenty of big news.  If you want to see this or any previous emails remember you can always find them here: http://www.wichitaswingdance.com/weekly.html

 

THIS SUNDAY

There's a lot so hold on....

1) It's dance card Sunday!

 

2) Lindy Hop Lessons in the basement begin.  These are progressive through the month so don't miss the start.

 

3) Sunflower Swing registration is officially open!!!!!!!  Why do I care, you ask?  Because it's an event so epic you can't miss it.

We'll have two days of classes from instructors that are coming from Denver, Chicago, and Minneapolis....

We'll have three nights of dancing....

We'll have Pivot Point AND the Grand Marquis here playing live music for your enjoyment...

We'll have contests featuring passes to awesome dance events as prizes...

We'll have our fellow dancers from across the midwest here with us to enjoy it...

For a weekend pass that includes all the classes and all the dances members will only pay $50 (that's over 50% off the a la carte price)

Non-members can join in at all the classes and dances for a mere $65

(It pays to be a member)

If you're not a class person but want to dance dance dance, you can purchase an Anniversary pass that gets you into every dance that weekend for only $20

 

 

 

Phew, that's a lot to process for one week.  I only have two things to mention to you.

 

First remember that THE SWING DADDIES ARE HERE ON THE 13th!!!!  That's a high energy, live band that'll get you on the floor so don't miss the chance!

 

Secondly, the Lindy Bombers are headed to the Heartland Swing Festival this weekend to represent all of you!  We'll be competing as a team and as individuals in multiple events, as well as spreading the word about Sunflower Swing!  Wish us luck!

Hello dancers, quick update for you.  Ivan Rossiter has left the hospital and been moved to a rehabilitation facility.  This is tremendous news!  While he has a long road ahead of him for rehab, he is healing.  Thanks to everyone for your concern, here's hoping for a quick rehab!

Hello dancers, hope you are all having a good day.  I'm emailing to let you know one of our long time members, Ivan Rossiter, suffered a serious accident yesterday.  He sustained multiple injuries and is currently receiving medical care.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
