I love how they incorporate modern moves into our treasured vintage dance.  Travel Opportunities: If you're looking to meet more dancers and skyrocket your skills, there's no better way to do it than by traveling to some regional events!  Rock Chalk Swing in Lawrence KS, Feb 27-March 1st.  I will be selling this one hard. They have great instructors and it is sooooo close. I saw that we caravan up there! Spend your Valentines Day with some of your favorite local dancers. There will be a vintage variety show, followed by a dance. We have a limited number of tickets for sale. Favorite music This week's song is Exactly Like You by Spirits of Rhythm. Vintage Clips:  The classic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Their tap dancing is lovely and they float across the floor.    We are in the thick of winter and traipsing through the snow. Lets try and keep that snow off the dance floor. If you are able to wear different shoes outside and change into the shoes that you are going to dance in once you get inside, we would greatly appreciate it. If you are wondering about good dance shoes, many of us wear Keds. I have found them at Kohls and JC Pennys.

Their personal style is strong and they seamlessly incorporate solo moves into their partnered dancing. If you would like to become more confident in your own personal style, today is the day to sign up for the 6:30 solo series. I spotted at least four solo moves in this video that will be taught this month. All of the moves that you learn in this class can be added to your partner dancing. All skill levels are encouraged to take this class. If you are wanting to learn Lindy Hop (the dance that these two are doing) you are in luck! Two of our veteran teachers, Evan and Sonya,  are on duty for our Beginning Lindy Hop  this month. Sunflower Swing!!!!

Registration is live. If you want to scoop up one of the cheap tickets to our yearly workshop in April, go to this website to grab one. They will not last long. Not only do we have fantastic teachers, but the djs will be spinning tunes late into the night. Bonus: Classes do not start until after lunch, so you can dance all night long and then sleep in to be refreshed for all of the dance moves that will be jumping into your brain.

If your birthday is in December, don't miss it!   Homework Laura, Mike, and Faulty demonstrate solo choreography done in a group. So many fun moves to  lift and try out. This piece is high energy, we are offering an easier solo group choreography in January. All of the moves that you learn in this class can be added to your partner dancing. All skill levels are encouraged to take this class. This group has a lot of fun with it. If your birthday is in December, don't miss it! Our Christmas party is December 14th. Feel free to dress up and bring a treat to share if you like. We will have our regular classes and a couple of special performances..  Homework Todd Yannacone and Pamela Gaizutyte start off this piece with some beginning Lindy Hop moves. Moves that you can learn in January in our beginning Lindy Hop class. Todd and Pamela then flow into a delightful composition of intermediate and advanced moves. I adore Pamela's personal styling choices. You can tell that she has done a fair amount of solo dancing because she is comfortable adding fun little steps into her partnered dancing. If you have already taken the beginning Lindy Hop class a time or two, January also offers a class that will teach you a solo choreography in a group setting. All of the moves that you learn in this class can be added to your partner dancing. All skill levels are encouraged to take this class. Their moves are ripe for the licking and fit the music so well.
