Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers!  It's June and we have a lot going on!
 
1) RIVERFEST!  It's a very big deal and there's a lot to do!  Check out the Riverfest section below for events we're targeting to have a presence at, and check out www.wichitariverfest.com for details on all of the festival happenings
 
2) NEW CLASSES!  The Big Apple starts this month.  Be warned, it is a progressive class throughout the month.  That means what we cover the second week will build on what we covered the first week.  So do your best to not miss out!
 
3) DANCE CARD SUNDAY!!!
 
4) SUNFLOWER SWING IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AWAY!!!  You can register online at www.sunflowerswing.com or on any Sunday night.
 
RIVERFEST
Yes indeed everyone, Riverfest is coming up and we wanted to draw your attention to some chances to dance......
Remember that details for all things Riverfest are available at www.wichitariverfest.com, and as always your button is your admission....
 
We'll be getting together to promote the club at each of these two performances, so come ready to spread the word about the best swing club in town and wear your WSDS shirts!  Here they are:
 
Wednesday June 8th the Swing Daddies are playing from 7:15 - 8:45 PM at the Waterwalk Pavilion
Thursday June 9th Made From Scratch is playing from 6 - 8:45 PM at the Star Floating Stage
 
We really hope you'll come out and dance with us to some of our favorite local bands as well as let the rest of Wichita know what they're missing!
 
BIG EVENTS
June 26th is the return of SOUL NIGHT!!!!!!
 
July 15-17 is Sunflower Swing here in Wichita, but you can register now!  In person on Sunday nights or online at www.sunflowerswing.com
The Grand Marquis, Pivot Point, and regional DJ's will keep you dancing for 3 nights while our instructors from Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago will make your feet move during 2 days of workshops.  We're inviting all our friends from out of town so come out and show them how we do things in the ICT!

June is your chance to learn the Big Apple!  Be aware a different section will be taught each night so don't miss out!

July we're going back to Cali and bringing you the Balboa!  Friend of happy feet everywhere this close partner dance will let you get down when the tempo picks up!

Monday nights the Lindy Bombers meet at Morningstar Community Church with classes for all levels from 7:30 - 9:30.  Beg/Int/Adv classes at 7:30, taster at 8:30.  This months taster is a mystery....  Check out www.lindybombers.com for details!

OTHER DANCES
Thursday nights Harry's is now the place to dance!  Every Thursday there'll be dancing at 7 PM.  If you're a member of the Harry Reese Dance Studio, it's just $1.  What's with this membership?  Check it out here:  http://www.harrysdance.com/index_files/Page429.htm
 
The LAST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH is our night for the dance at Harry's.  We'll have DJ'd swing music starting at 7 PM, and it's just $1 for everyone.  This month we'll be out dancing on June 30!
