Hello dancers!  Two big reasons to come out and dance on Sunday:

1) We'll have our August birthday jam!

2) You can buy your series pass for classes in August!  We're offering Lindy Hop 101 and Partner Charleston!  You pass will get you admission to either series class at 6:30, the drop in class at 7:30, and the dance at 8, every Sunday in September!  For members a pass is $20, for non-members it's $30.  Be aware, you can't join the series part way through.  If you're just up for dancing, then you can come for the drop in class and the dance each week for the normal $4/$6!

Dollar Dance on Thursday!

Hey dancers, just a quick reminder that you can come out to the basement of the Harry Reese Dance Studio from 7-9 PM on Thursday for DJ'd swing dancing, and it's only $1!!!!!

 

Bring a snack to share and get ready for some cheap middle of the week dancing!

Hello dancers!  Last week was a big one, for a few reasons.  First, we elected new board members!   Here's your current board:

 

President - Missy Hawkins

Treasurer - Evan Borst

Public Relations - Sonya Atencio

Events Coordinator - Corina Tillman

Membership - Marshall Warren

Secretary - Chelsea Rothschild

 

We still nee a VP.  If you're interested in the job, please respond to this email. 

 

Secondly, we had a membership meeting.  We presented how things are going to be a little bit different on Sunday nights starting in September:

 

*We will have a pair of one hour classes starting at 6:30 PM, one upstairs, one downstairs.  These will be packaged in month long segments, to provide a better learning experience for you the students.  Purchasing a month series of class will include all the dances for that month, and cost $20 for members, $30 for non-members.  Students will not be allowed to join classes mid-month, as material will be progressive.  September's classes are Lindy Hop 1A and Partner Charleston

 

*There will be a beginner friendly drop in class every week from 7:30 - 8:00 PM.  This is open to all comers.  Admission for the drop-in class includes the dance that night, and is $4 for members, $6 for non-members.

 

*After classes we will continue to have a dance from 8-10 PM.  Admission to the dance alone is $4 for members, $6 for non-members.  We will continue to collect money late into the dance, so if you come after 8, expect to pay.

 

Feel free to respond to this email with questions regarding the format changes, we'll be happy to answer them.

It's a LIVE BAND NIGHT as we have THE BENDERS playing from 8-10!  Admission will be $6 for members, $8 for non-members.  If you've never heard this band before then be sure to start resting up now, they'll have you moving all night!

Hello dancers!  It's August and with a new month comes new things to get excited about!  First of all, let me draw your attention to August 14th.

 

August 14th marks our annual Board Elections and another Membership Meeting!  I'm attaching a ballot for the election with pictures and election statements.  These are the people running:

The elections are at 7 PM in the basement of the studio.  After the election is the membership meeting, and we have some things we want to discuss with you the membership.  So please make every effort to be there.

 

THIS SUNDAY is the first of the month, meaning new classes and dance card Sunday!  Door prizes just for showing up and dancing.  How do you beat that?
