Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers!  Last week was a big one, for a few reasons.  First, we elected new board members!   Here's your current board:

 

President - Missy Hawkins

Treasurer - Evan Borst

Public Relations - Sonya Atencio

Events Coordinator - Corina Tillman

Membership - Marshall Warren

Secretary - Chelsea Rothschild

 

We still nee a VP.  If you're interested in the job, please respond to this email. 

 

Secondly, we had a membership meeting.  We presented how things are going to be a little bit different on Sunday nights starting in September:

 

*We will have a pair of one hour classes starting at 6:30 PM, one upstairs, one downstairs.  These will be packaged in month long segments, to provide a better learning experience for you the students.  Purchasing a month series of class will include all the dances for that month, and cost $20 for members, $30 for non-members.  Students will not be allowed to join classes mid-month, as material will be progressive.  September's classes are Lindy Hop 1A and Partner Charleston

 

*There will be a beginner friendly drop in class every week from 7:30 - 8:00 PM.  This is open to all comers.  Admission for the drop-in class includes the dance that night, and is $4 for members, $6 for non-members.

 

*After classes we will continue to have a dance from 8-10 PM.  Admission to the dance alone is $4 for members, $6 for non-members.  We will continue to collect money late into the dance, so if you come after 8, expect to pay.

Now moving on to the normal email.....

 

THIS SUNDAY

It's a LIVE BAND NIGHT as we have THE BENDERS playing from 8-10!  Admission will be $6 for members, $8 for non-members.  If you've never heard this band before then be sure to start resting up now, they'll have you moving all night!

OTHER CLASSES
Monday nights the Lindy Bombers meet at Morningstar Community Church with classes for all levels from 7:30 - 9:30.  Beg/Int/Adv classes at 7:30, taster at 8:30.  This months taster is the video study project!  Check out www.lindybombers.com for details!
