WSDS Weekly 11/10/11

Hello dancers! 

 

There are several dance opportunities this weekend to share.  First, Saturday we are proud sponsors of the Central Prairie Honor Flight at Jabara Airport.  The schedule of event is as follows; from 4-5 pm WSDS will provide free dance instruction.  A catered dinner starts at 5 pm for $15 (volunteer price).  The dance contest begins at 7pm and costs $25 to enter. There is over $500 of cash and prizes for participants.  General dancing will open after the contest.

 

Second, Sunday is our annual Sock Hop.  Our good friend Ronnie Choy will be spinning tunes to help us celebrate.  Dance the night away to 50's and 60's music.  We would love to see your poodle skirts, bobby socks and leather jackets for this wicked cool event. 

 

There will be a silent auction during the Christmas Party.  This fundraiser is for Sunflower Swing, to build a better event.  Please respond to this email or contact a board member if you are interested in donating anything.  No donation is too small and all are appreciated!

November Classes

6:30 - 7:30  - Lindy 201* Series Class - upstairs

6:30 - 7:30  - Shim Sham Drop-in Class downstairs $5/$7

7:30 - 8:00 - Beginning East Coast Swing Drop-in Class – upstairs $4/$6

*Prerequisite of Lindy 102 to participate.

December 4^th Festival of Trees for Goodwill located at Century II. It last an hour and starts at 1pm.

 

December 4^th our annual Christmas Party is free to members and $10 for non-members.

 

December 25^th – Closed for Christmas.

 

January 1^st – We are open!
