Hello dancers!
This Sunday starts our Series classes with Beginning and Intermediate Lindy Hop Swing that begin at 6:30 PM. Swinging Sunday's starts at 7:30 PM with the drop in East Coast Swing class. Enjoy dancing to Soul Music from 8-10 PM.
We have a mid-week opportunity for you: Wednesday, July 10th dance to DJ'd swing music from 6-9 PM at Wright Brothers Restaurant and Club (6815 W. Kellogg). There is no cover, so come hang out, have a drink and dance. Food and drink are available for purchase, so please support the venue!
As dancers it is PARAMOUNT that we support our venues. In this case at the Wright Brothers, it means ordering beverages. Beer, spirits, and soda all contribute to the bar's bottom line. Providing healthy tips to the wait staff is also important. If we make them money, we'll have future opportunities to dance during the week. So have a beverage along with a great time!
Interested in being on the board? The WSDS 2013-2014 board elections will take place on July 21st. See the requirement in the election packet attached to this email. Your self-nomination form with contact information, photo and election speech stating what the nominee has to offer the society must be submitted to me (Missy Hawkins) at mkosings03@gmail.com by July 12, 2013. The election ballot of candidates will be published by July 14, 2013. The election will take place at our membership meeting July 21, 2013 at 7:30 PM upstairs.
We have some fantastic things coming up. We have dancing at the Wright Brothers Restaurant and Club on July 10th, July 14th we have our silly dance contest, July 21st elections, July 28th is our birthday jam.
