Next Month's Classes: Beginning Lindy 6:30-7:30 Intermediate Lindy Hop 6:30-7:30 Intro To Swing 7:30-8:00 Upcoming Events: We will have our November Birthday Jam on Sunday, November 30th. If your birthday is in November, don't miss it! A special steals class will also be given at 6:30 on Nov 30th.  I am sure that you have seen John and Isaiah jump in and steal partners from each other. They are most certainly fun to watch. You can learn some of their moves. The price will be $6 for non members and $4 for members.  Travel Opportunities: If you're looking to meet more dancers and skyrocket your skills, there's no better way to do it than by traveling to some regional events! 'Tis the season for dancing in the Midwest. Check it out: Austin Lindy Exchange in Austin, TX, November 21-23 Homework Watch this and try and steal a move or two. Julie Brown and Shawn Hershey have great solo movement to compliment their partnered dancing. It is as if they are having a conversation, listening and speaking in turn. These kind of dances are the best kind of dances. Favorite music This week's song is Billie's Blues by Billie Holliday. Not all blues need to be slow. They have great instructors and it is sooooo close. I saw that we caravan up there! Homework Watch this and try and steal a move or two. Damon Stone and Heidi Fite are world renowned dance instructors. I have had the pleasure to dance with Damon a few times and it was most certainly a treat. Where ever he goes, there is always a long line of ladies waiting to dance with him. If you want a long line of people waiting to dance with you, learn to move your body like these two. Favorite music This week's song is Blues Boy Tune by BB King. Nearly twenty years ago I went to a msuic festival and got to see BB King play live. I was only 14 or so. This song makes my heart flutter a bit. It is sweet and light. What is amazing is that all of the lead guitar that you hear, he plays with only two fingers. Due to a fire, he lost the ability to use his bottom two fingers. You can see him at work here. The dancers, Micheal Seguin and Ann Mony, are doing a bluesy slow dance. As you will find, their humor comes out through their dancing.
