Wichita Swing Dance Society

Hello dancers, this week it is all about one thing:  SUNFLOWER SWING!  It's finally here, and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

 

The fun starts tomorrow night at Old Town Ballroom (630 E. Douglas) from 7-10 PM.  We'll have DJ Joy Kotewall from KC and DJ David Frutos from California playing the tunes, the dancing is up to you!  Cost is only $5, come out and help kick the weekend off in style!

 

Saturday we give you a fun-filled day of classes with Kim Clever and David Frutos from California as well as Nate Woodhams and Christy Palmer from Omaha.  It's at the studio (Harry's) from 10-3, we'll have a beginner and an advanced track so there's something for everybody.  Classes include beginning lindy hop, slides, aerials, movie moves, and more!  Classes are $10 each.

 

Saturday night we head to the Dance Studio (1855 S. Rock) from 8-Midnight for an evening of dance contests, DJ Troy Nothnagel from Omaha, and LIVE MUSIC!  Pivot Point makes their debut for you so come welcome them to the Wichita Swing Dance Society!  The entire dance is only $10.

 

If that's not enough, we'll head back to Old Town Ballroom (630 E. Douglas) afterwards for an after hours dance from Midnight until however late you can party.  Why not see how late you can go?  For $5 it's an exciting evening sure to include swing, soul, blues and more with DJ Hilary Wright from KC

 

Sunday are more classes at the Dance Studio (1855 S. Rock) from 10-3, and we're all together this time.  Easy tricks for everyone, balboa, and collegiate shag highlight a fun day of classes, again $10 each.

 

Sunday night we have a very special Swingin' Sunday planned.  Brief East Coast lesson from 6:30-7, then the Swingdaddies take over with a whirlwind of high energy swing fun from 7-10 PM!  The entire evening is $10, don't miss out!

 

Of course you can save money by getting a weekend pass that admits you to every dance and every class ($110 value) for only $70 for members and $85 for non-members.  If not, then come to as much as you can squeeze in, it's a party the likes of which you won't see again for a year.
