Wichita Swing Dance Weekly

This Month's Classes: Tranky Doo, a vintage choreographed solo line dance done around the world. Taught by Evan 6:30-7:30 Intro to Swing 7:30-8:00 Taught by a lovely variety of teachers.  There will be additional teachers substituting. Next Month's Classes: Beginning Lindy Hop Upcoming Events: January 3rd is Dance Card Sunday.  January 31st is the Birthday Jam Extra Extra! We want to hear what you think. If you have an idea let us know. Got a concern on your mind, lay it on us. We want your experience to be fun and worry free. Inspiration Be still my heart. I love watching these two perform. If you want to see them live AND take some classes, hop on down to Austin next weekend. It will be worth the trip. If you are not ready to travel that far for fun, make sure to check out our yearly party coming up in April. There are a handful of great weekend workshops within a day's drive coming up in 2016, make sure that Sunflower Swing in Wichita is on that list.  Travel Opportunities: If you're looking to meet more dancers and skyrocket your skills, there's no better way than to hop in the car and find a weekend workshop.     Kevin St. Laurent and Jo Hoffberg in Austin, TX January 22nd-24th 2016 Rock Chalk Swing has a FANTASTIC lineup of teachers. Make sure to drive up for their event in Lawrence Feb 12th-14th. Lindyfest  in Houston, TX. March 24th-27th is a HUGE event and oodles of fun. World class instruction, fantastic live bands and a whole bunch of fun competitions to watch mixed in. Sunflower Swing in your home town. April 15-17th, the best party all year. Fabulous classes and dancing into the wee hours of the morning. Don't miss it! Favorite music This week's song is a performance by Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns, a current band that can be caught live at many national dance events. Vintage Clips:  Check out Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers singing Gershwin's "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off". I greatly enjoyed their partnered dancing while wearing roller skates,  that they do about half way through. Have you wanted to get more involved in our swing dance community?
